New Secondhand Fashion Site ->"Threadflip"

Threadflip is your destination for buying, selling and sharing fabulous fashion with favorite friends & like-minded fashionistas.”

According to Mashable, there’s been a proliferation of web and mobile-based channels for selling pre-owned clothing and accessories recently including Copious,  99dresses,  Fashionlend,  Nearly Newlywed, Poshmark. These businesses are aiming to carve a slice out of an area long dominated by the likes of eBay, Etsy and local consignment shops.

Enter Threadflip, a San Francisco-based company which provides both “Buy” and “Sell” services and offers a “white glove service” for sellers who want to be less involved. Right now, your first “box” is on them for those who take part in their “pilot program,” which is great news for those of you looking to edit your wardrobe for summer!

Tips for Brands to get the most out of the Facebook Timeline

“If you have a small business with little budget for social media or marketing, you need not worry —you can get a lot out of Facebook for free merely by doing it well. The more compelling and engaging your content is, the more it will be “liked” and commented on, thus catapulting your content —and brand —into organic buzz through more and more news feeds.”

This is a great post from Mashable with a number of tips and suggestions on improving your brand presence using many of the new features of the Facebook timeline (which was rolled out back on March 30).

Some suggestions include

  • taking advantage of the Cover Photo,
  • paying attention to Insights (user statistics),
  • using and organizing Apps,
  • running Ads and Contests, and more… A must read!

Fundable - “Crowdfunding for Startup Companies”

I recently read a press post about the new site Fundable.  Here is a brief write-up from a fellow Tumblr-

“Heard of Fundable? Launching only a couple days ago, this new site is the Kickstarter-model channeled specifically towards startups. Not a bad idea - it will be interesting to see if crowdfunding for the startup subset takes off in a major way.

One of the projects Fundable launched with, Purge, sounds like it has promise. It’s basically billed as a simpler, more mobile Craigslist.
